Week Two Update |
In the second week of the FRC build season, team 1646 has been working hard. On the mechanical side of things, we finished prototyping and CADing. Also, we worked on building pieces to the playing field, started building and welding the chassis, and got the camera working. In the PR department, we worked on T-shirt designs, started our power point for the design review at Purdue on Tuesday, and finished our Woodie Flowers and Chairman's awards. As we quickly approach the half-way point of this build season, we are excited to see what the next four weeks will bring to our team. |

FIRST Robotics |

For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology: FIRST Robotics is an example of an extracurricular enterprise that exercises and entertains the minds of millions of high school students world-wide.
Between 1992 and now, the FIRST of the year has meant more than the dawn of a new year, it has meant a new game and a new chance to compete with peers in a challenging and electrifying environment. From the beginning of January to the middle of February, students work nearly every day before school, after school, weekends, and any other times that are available to build, wire, program, and test a five foot tall 120 lb machine.
On the cutting edge, FIRST Embraces Technology like no other high school engineering program out there. During the six weeks of build season, students are given the opportunity of a lifetime to Educate themselves and others in a professional environment. With teams from all over the earth, FIRST is helping to Empower the World by providing thousands with the resources to make something of themselves on a macrocosmic scale. Imagination and Innovation are what make FIRST Robotics the challenge and reward that it is. One could almost call it Imaginovative… |

Week One Update |
With kickoff last Saturday, the 2012 FIRST Robotics season has begun! Team 1646 started this season with a productive first week. In the first few days, the whole team got together to make all of the major decisions about our game strategy and robot design. We used a simple version of a decision matrix to make the final decisions reguarding design. Later in the week, our PR group worked on writing the Woodie Flowers and Chairmans awards, while our mechanical group prototyped the chassis and the ball shooter. Our first week went wonderfully, and we are all looking forward to the next five weeks of this FIRST Robotics build season. |
